Five Things I Learned While Redesigning My Workflow

Redesigning my workflow taught me less about tools and more about tradeoffs. Five lessons stood out:
- Fewer moving parts. Consolidate where possible; every integration has a cost.
- Defaults matter. Pre-filled templates beat empty pages.
- Boundaries protect attention. Notifications are rights, not obligations.
- Labels save time later. Especially on files Future You won’t recognise.
- Maintenance is the reality check. If it’s heavy to maintain, it won’t last.
The result isn’t flashy, but it’s calmer. That’s the goal.
