Five Things I Learned While Redesigning My Workflow

Five Things I Learned While Redesigning My Workflow hero

Redesigning my workflow taught me less about tools and more about tradeoffs. Five lessons stood out:

  1. Fewer moving parts. Consolidate where possible; every integration has a cost.
  2. Defaults matter. Pre-filled templates beat empty pages.
  3. Boundaries protect attention. Notifications are rights, not obligations.
  4. Labels save time later. Especially on files Future You won’t recognise.
  5. Maintenance is the reality check. If it’s heavy to maintain, it won’t last.

The result isn’t flashy, but it’s calmer. That’s the goal.
